As it does every two years, the World Diamond Council is currently conducting elections for its Board of Directors, this time for nine open director positions. The process, which is being coordinated by WDC Secretary Udi Sheintal, will conclude on May 20, 2022, when the results of the voting will be announced.

A special Nominating Committee submitted the names of candidates for the nine open positions on March 25, 2022, and all WDC members were subsequently invited to submit the names of additional candidates by April 11, 2022. On April 13, 2022, the WDC Secretary declared that the list of candidates for elections as final, and on April 14, 2022, two independent election tellers were appointed.

Election ballots will be sent to all WDC members on May 4, 2022, and they will have until May 19 to submit their selections, the day before the results are announced.
